“Blepo”, take heed

And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

Matt 24:4

HOW does one avoid being deceived? By taking heed to walk in the light of God’s undiluted word. Therefore, seek the truth and walk in it by the help of the Holy spirit. Jesus said we shall know the truth and the truth shall make us free (John 8:32).

In knowing the truth, one must *submit to the ministry of the Holy Spirit*. Jesus revealed that _”… when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide [us] into ALL truth…”(John 16:13)._ Yes, we are to recognize and accept His ministry in revealing, leading and guiding us into ALL truth (not half-truths).

We are not to study our Bible religiously or with prejudice; but rather in gracious humility, with a spiritually discerning mind.* _The Holy Spirit, the best Teacher will keep us free from deception, error and bondage of human theories and philosophies which oppose the words of Christ. Remember, the greatest and deadliest weapon of the devil is deception (Revelation 12:9;20:10). *He employs this weapon to make people doubt and disbelieve God’s word.* It is worthy of note that the devil and his cohorts are already against the Christ, so His major aim is to turn mankind against the Messiah (Psalm 2:1,2).But those who take heed can always see through his tricks and strategies.

“Take heed” is from the (Koine) Greek word *blepo* which translates as *”see to it, discern mentally, watch out, be careful, weigh carefully, examine, or stay alert”*

Family of God, we are in a dispensation where the devil’s greatest tool, deception, is being very much sharpened through the media, arts and entertainment, education, religion, various literatures, scholars etc. The devil has agencies and agents who strictly oppose everything “Christ”.

But Jesus says “blepo”; take heed, discern, watch out, see with your spirit and mind’s eye that NO MAN deceives you. *This is your responsibility; *guard what you have believed from the word of God. *Guard your heart and mind* with all diligence.

To be deceived means you’re being led aside from the right way, truth or virtue; into error and sin. This present age is characterized by a lot of heresies and doctrines of demons .

” *Now the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some will turn away from the true faith; they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons* (1Tim 4:1)

Let the words of Christ Jesus be your final authority and standard for life. Take heed ! Take heed ! for we are in the last days. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.
